Windows Soft-wear Campaigns
The holidays are a time when we tend to indulge in a little nostalgia. And for Microsoft Windows—a tech brand who’s been around since many people’s childhood—there’s plenty of nostalgia to tap into. And thus, the Windows Ugly Sweater was born. The first, handled in-house by Microsoft, was based on Windows 95 and a small run of sweaters were given to influencers and lucky fans. In the years that followed, the sweater creative went agency-side and my writing partner and I developed campaigns around each. I even got to design all but one.

The second installment was the Windows XP sweater campaign. A small run of sweaters were produced and distributed to lucky fans and influencers, which built brand love and extreme FOMO for the limited edition swag. I designed the sweater and art directed and executed most of the campaign tactics and built the Instagram AR filter.

The following year we listened to our fans and offered the sweater for sale—and in the spirit of the season, a portion of the proceeds went to benefit Girls Who Code. We underestimated demand and surpassed our fundraising goal. Again, I handled oversight, concept and design.
Soft-wear 4.0
We took sweaters to another level with a super fun production featuring mannequin talent. The theme: gaming and the charity this time, Able Gamers, an accessibility focused nonprofit.
Soft-wear 5.0
For the fifth installment, we featured the one and only, Clippy. My only charge this time around was the sweater design, but it made waves, including a shout-out from Melinda Gates.
